When the whole file has been downloaded, Internet Download Manager re-assembles the pieces into the complete file. When you download a file from a website, it downloads multiple chunks (segments) of that file from multiple servers, simultaneously, which increases the overall download speed. You can tell Internet Download Manager how many pages deep it should go before stopping the batch, etc.

You can also perform batch downloads, like downloading all images on a website. Internet Download Manager can enable the downloading of files on some sites that don't normally allow you to download from. I bought it at version 6.21 build 9, it is currently at version 6.25 build 23. Internet Download Manager is a legit program.
